ABELDent Cloud and ABELDent Local Plus

ABELDent Freemium is a free, full-featured version of ABELDent Local Plus that is limited only by the constraints of Microsoft SQL Express. SQL Express is a free version of Microsoft’s SQL database that has some technical limitations such as database size. ABELDent Freemium is available free of charge for the following:

• Smaller practices that can operate within the constraints of Microsoft SQL Express
• Start-up dental or hygiene practices with limited workstations
• Practices that want a trial of ABELDent Cloud or Local Plus software
• People that want to learn ABELDent Cloud or Local Plus software

Freemium includes 90 days of free use of the ABELDent Mastery Learning Management System (LMS). Each LMS license can be extended by an additional 90-day period through use of the LMS within the period.

Summer 2023 was busy for the ABELDent development team. A number of new features were added to ABELDent Cloud and ABELDent Local Plus, including the following:

• New Patient Self Booking - Attract new patients! Embed a button on your practice website that potential new patients can use to register and select a new patient appointment. You control which providers new patients can schedule time with, and when.
• Automated Recall Booking and Patient Reminders - Automatically send email and text messages to patients with overdue hygiene appointments. This is just one of the many benefits of ABELDent PCS (Patient Communication System) included with ABELDent Cloud and available for ABELDent Local Plus. ABELDent PCS is the only patient communication system designed specifically for ABELDent Cloud and ABELDent Local Plus.
• Voice Controlled Perio Charting - Eliminate the need for a second set of hands in the operatory to record data during a periodontal exam. Record periodontal data and control navigation using your voice and a headset. This improved ABELDent feature uses updated voice recognition technology.
• Electronic Claim EOB (Explanation of Benefits) Reconciliation - ABELDent captures and applies carrier payment information from EOBs. The expected insurance portion of a submitted claim is updated automatically, recording payments more efficiently and collecting patient portions more quickly and accurately.
• Customizable Emailable Health History Form - Create a health history form to your specifications and email patients requests to complete the form on a secure and protected webpage. Completed forms are saved in the patient’s record for review at a provider’s convenience. Save time and reduce paperwork during a patient’s visit.
• Custom Emailable Forms - Create custom forms, including Dental History and Consent forms, that meet your practice needs. Email requests to patients to complete forms on a secure and protected webpage. Completed forms are saved in the patient’s record for review. Save time and reduce paperwork during a patient’s visit.
• Online Payment - Improve collections and increase revenue. Remind patients of outstanding balances by email and allow the patient to pay online.
• Improved Treatment Coordination Support - Tools and workflows that support treatment planning, patient education and consent to treatment.
• Chart View by Status - A charting option that differentiates charted procedures visually by the status of the procedure. Differentiate between procedures that are planned, completed within your practice, or completed outside your practice at a glance.
• Improved Clinical Notes Integrity - Better protect your clinical notes while they are in progress, append clinical notes with an audit trail, and sign off on notes to protect them permanently. New workflow options provide you with more flexibility and more protection for your clinical notes.

ABELDent Mastery LMS (Learning Management System) has online self-learning course available 24/7/365 to help you get the most out of ABELDent Cloud or ABELDent Local Plus. Learn role-specific content at your own pace, track your progress and keep up to date as ABELDent changes. Practice owners can view the progress of everyone in the practice.

ABELDent continues to support older ABELDent versions. There are currently over 70 unique versions in use. This results in some practices using software with functionality and security issues that were solved long ago in updates. If you are not using ABELDent Local 14.8.2, Cloud, or Local Plus, we strongly encourage you to update or upgrade to avoid unnecessary issues.
