How to Utilize Online Patient Forms in ABELDent

Encryption 

It is crucial that your patients’ PHI (Protected Health Information) is sufficiently protected. Sending sensitive health information without encryption (such as sending forms as attachments to unsecured emails) needlessly exposes patient data to theft or exposure in the event of a data breach. Online forms created in ABELDent are encrypted, ensuring that the safety of your patient data is a top priority. In addition, the data entered in an ABELDent form is not stored on the patient’s device. 

Data is Added Automatically to Patient Charts 

When your patient finishes filling out their online form and clicks the ‘Submit’ button, the form data is captured in your ABELDent software. For new patient intake forms, data submitted by the patient automatically populates the ABELDent patient record. This eliminates the need for you to manually enter patient data, as would be required if you used paper-based intake forms.  As a result, potential entry errors (such as those caused by misinterpreting unclear handwriting) are minimized. This aspect also saves your administrative team’s time, allowing more time to be allocated for other important tasks. 

Providers can also review and sign off on a form submitted by a patient. Checking over the submitted information to ensure there are no noticeable issues. This adds a level of verification to your patient records, improving your record-keeping practices. When the form is approved by the provider, the data in the form auto-populates the patient record in ABELDent.

ABELDent Cloud and Local Plus allow you to design custom forms to send to patients as needed for any number of reasons. You can use the Form Builder in ABELDent to add, remove, or change fields or questions according to your needs. You can add different standard response options, change response methods (e.g. from multiple choice to text entry), and even add follow-up questions to specific responses. Once you are finished editing the form, you can save it for later if it requires review, or you can publish and start using it right away.
